Editor's Note: Congratulations to Tamara, Amy, and Maureen Bannon Chouinard for winning this week's contest!
Most people have one job that they rely on to cover their expenses. The idea of working more than one job or having more than one source of income might not cross their minds. However, there are people who have multiple sources of income to fall back on should they need some extra money or their primary source of income falls through.
Do you have multiple sources of income? Why or why not? If you have multiple sources of income, what are all your sources of income?
Tell us if you have multiple sources of income and we'll enter you in a drawing to win a $20 Amazon Gift Card!
We're doing three giveaways — one for random comments, one for random Facebook "Likes", and another one for random tweets.
If you're inspired to write a whole blog post OR you have a photo on flickr to share, please link to it in the comments or tweet it.
Note: Due to recent changes in Facebook's promotions guidelines, we have restructured the entry format of our giveaways.
Good Luck!

I work two jobs. When the full time job was no longer enough for me to pay my bills and get out of debt, I picked up a second job closing/working weekends at a coffee shop.
We have Social Security, investments and a small pension.
I Like you on Facebook as Selene Montgomery
Yes,because I have multiple sources of bills. :)
I have regular several consulting gigs, and a trickle of income from adsense and some tshirts I designed a few years ago.
I sometimes edit papers for others as a second source of income. It's not much, but it's pretty steady.
I have multiple, intermittent streams of income on top of my actual salary because of many reasons, the best reason being: faster road to financial freedom. Overall, it's a lot more comfortable to know that even every once in a long while I can go earn two or maybe three paychecks all during the same 8-10hr work day. It's far more time efficient than working 23 hrs a day and not having time to actually enjoy the spoils of your labor, plus it helps you reach solid financial goals a lot more quickly.
I avoided it for a long time because I didn't think to do things like market myself and my freelance work DURING my actual work time, taking small projects during paid vacations (and just using the spoils to take short, unpaid vacations later). I only thought earning side income would steal away my nights, weekends, and holidays. I was also afraid I'd burn myself out, and in the beginning I did tire quickly. But it's something to get used to, especially once you start to see your bottom line bulk up in a short span of time.
My husband and I both have a 40 hr/wk job (his is more like 65-70) and we have a paper route. On occasion, I do mystery shops.
I've liked you on FB for quite awhile now.
I collect a pension, plus social security. I also have rental properties, do surveys and save a LOT of money with coupons.

Just one job here. I do sell my daughter's used text books, but that's not really income. Also, about once a year, I'll get called to do a focus group, which usually pays about $100.

We only have one source of income right now so I can stay at home with the kiddos. Going to start back to work part-time in August to try and help supplement a little bit.

Yes i have multiple sources of income. I have a home cleaning company, we go in after foreclosures and clean the home. People leave all kinds of things behind. I also enter online competitions like this one for extra income.
I have liked you on facebook and posted on your wall ..Cynthia Deadmon
Yes, I have multiple sources of income With this economy I think its important to have a side job in addition to a main job. To me multiple sources of income means my main job pays the household expenses and my side job pays helps boost savings or pay for fun extras I want like an extra bag, or a nice restaurant. My favorite multiple income jobs have been dog walking, baby sitting and yard work like helping the neighbors w/ mowing or planting and de-weeding their lawns and gardens
My husband and both work - only one job each, but both are salaried. And I sell some used books on Amazon to add a little spending cash here and there, which is nice.
I'm working on getting multiple sources of income. I am in direct sales, as well as trying to start earning on my blog. I like the idea of not having all "my eggs in one basket" so to speak. Having multiple sources is kind of fun and I would compare it to finding money in your jacket pocket that you haven't worn since winter. You kind of forget it's there and then when one area starts becoming profitable it's pretty exciting.
Government contracting, wine consulting, pet sitting, and private academic tutoring are just some of the ways I make ends meet!
I do not have an additional source of income, but I'd like to. I've heard online survey sites are a decent way to make a bit of cash, just beware the scams!
I have many sources of income since I'm a freelancer. It is great job security.
I have a job and dividends from stocks such as Verizon, constellation energy and pepco.
I have several sources of income, tho' none very significant. I get survey income, recycle cans and am disabled.

Heather Merritt yes. I do. I have to. My husband and I both have jobs but my hours were cut so I signed up to sell emergency food supplies. (Think gourmet MRE's -just add water) www.heather.myefoods.com That way we have food in storage just in case something serious happens as well as we earn food for free and even have an additional income from it.

Yes - I have a full-time job, a part-time job and do some contracting jobs. I have 2 small children and to pay day care, etc, etc - it is just too expensive!
We have several sources of income. One is the rent of the rooms in my house. The second one is just selling stuff (mine or other´s) and third some private classes I usually teach... It is not always steady, but generally speaking, we manage and we are ok.
I "like" you on Facebook and liked your status!
At the time we only have 1 source of income in our household. I do get a few bucks a month doing online surveys, not enough each time to make much of a difference but it does add up.
FB 'liked' as well.
I currently have 2 jobs & a direct sales business and my husband has a job and a small business. So 5 streams of income for our family.
Our family has one source of income which is my husband's job as a drywall contractor. Being in the construction industry, some weeks you can count on the money other times you can not, depending on any homes available to work on. I have Stage 4 breast cancer with bone metastasis and am currently on Hospice. This is why I am unable to work to bring in income. I am on a special Medicaid program form breast cancer patients at my stage. This makes it very tough with paid and unpaid medications, food, keeping up on the home and car repairs, his insurance he must have for his job, home insurance, and education costs for my daughter, etc.
I very much appreciate Wise Bread and all its wisdom and will continue to keep up on all the wonderful articles, coupons and savings, newsletter, etc. Sincere thank yous to all the Wise Bread staff.

We are a one-income household. We had planned from the time we got married that I would stay home with the kids and worked several years towards that end. Is it more difficult? Sure, we don't go on vacation every year, not even every 2 years, but the time we have to spend with our family is incalculably precious. My kids (9 and 11) have requested that I stay home with them, even if we could afford more "stuff" like vacations and eating out. They appreciate the fact that I am home and realize that these "sacrifices" are totally worth it.
I used to have a part-time job in addition to my full-time job to help pay down student loans. I dropped the part-time after it got to stressful and was leading to wasteful spending because I was tired.
Hi Wise Bread
I am a bartender by trade so I do private parties, some side jobs for a catering company and alot of in-home petsitting. I have a client who has 3cats 2dogs that travels quite a bit so they keep me busy. I'm in the No. VA. area if you need my services! :>)
Yes, I have two part time jobs, and am working on
getting a third...I work in an ambulance, and also in an
occupational health clinic at a very large big box store
distribution center. I'm hustling these jobs to replace
a fulltime gig I had working for another ambulance
service here that went bust...Love your blog, have been
reading it for years!
My main source of income is my "day job." But I also have self-employment income from a home business. As the day job hours have declined this year, I'm ramping up time spent with the home business. I also have some rental income from my father's house. He died two years and we decided not to sell since real estate prices were down. So there's some small steady income from that.
Yes, two part-time jobs and occasional freelance projects here.
I liked you on Facebook.

My husband and I each have salaried jobs, but in our get out of debt plans, we routinely search for other sources of income. Our steadiest is selling quality metal for recycling. People throw all kinds of good stuff away that at the minimum can be broken down into wire, copper, aluminum, lead, and brass. You don't even have to dumpster dive. We go around neighborhoods and pick up stuff set out on the curb for big junk collection day. We do cans as well. We are small time, but with current prices, we get enough to add to the debt. Plus we use craigslist, ebay, and garage sales to sell good stuff. Finally, I am now earning a bit of income marketing a nutritional product that I was just a user of, and that seems to working out well too. Mypoints for gift cards is good too.
On the side my husband and I do jobs on elance - it is a great source for a little or a lot of additional income depending on your time and skills.
Yes I do. In addition to my "day job," I teach one class a semester at a community college, and do freelance bookkeeping for various people as the needs arise. Sometimes I do online surveys, but that's more of a thing to do when I'm bored than a viable source of income.
I am retired - prepared for it since my early 2's, thanks to my father way back then. I have retired from two jobs - a State government job with good and stable benefits. Then also from a church where I draw from an annuity now.
Works for me - I have been very bless - let me tell you!

I already receive WiseBread emails daily and "like" their page - long since. I take advantage of all the information and offers that apply to me!
I highly recommend!
I don't, but am looking at ideas for some. My brother turned a hobby into a decent "occasional" income. It inspired me. It would go straight to my non-existent retirement account if I do find a 2nd source of income!
Currently I have only one source of income...Social Security Disability. In August my answer might change! :-)
We only have one source of income at this time. My husband is currently a SAHD, but in the future I'm sure he'll go back to work.
I work one full-time job. I keep debating a second job to help pay off some debt sooner, but my free time with my fiancé, friends, family and beagle is just too valuable to me right now. I know that if I took on a second job, I would be more stressed and wouldn't have much time to myself, so I'm making a compromise.

I have two other sources of income: tutor and sell my own jewelry designs. Neither is very regular, but I save up all year to afford really nice vacation.
Historically, I have usually kept 2 jobs, occasionally 3. Almost always maintained a fulltime "day job". Moonlighted for a decade as an artists' model for both community colleges and private groups, which is irregular work but the checks go straight into the "play money" envelope. Taught beginning sewing classes at local fabric stores for a few years until all the stores got bought out by a behemoth & went corporate. Worked half-Saturdays at a costume rental shop for a few years. The handful of tax forms makes tax time more complicated, but the extra few bucks are nice padding, to pay for the extras in life. As so many others are, I am working on launching a small home-based business, which has been on the back burner for 4 years, and which has a long way to go to show a profit, but which has good potential. Have not found mystery shopping or online sales to be a significant source of income yet, more of a break-even endeavor.
I like you on FB as Allison Taylor.
No, we just have one.
Yes, I love having multiple streams of income.
My husband own his own business with one main source of income, and several smaller ones. I work doing bookkeeping for his business and one other. I also have multiple online sources of income.
And I give each income stream a "job" to do so that it doesn't get swallowed up with everyday expenses and impulse buys.
I have a full time job, a direct sales business plus intrest and dividend income from investments
Yes, we have multiple streams of income...I work full-time behind a desk, my husband and I sell yard sale items at a local flea market about once a month (brings us AT LEAST $100 every time for about 6 hours of "work" - and most times we don't even know what we've sold...LOL)! Plus I have my own home based business that I keep up and probably don't work as much as I should.
I currently only have one job. I have lost most of my part time work to people who were unemployed and looking to do it full time. For now I am enjoying the additional free time of only having one job. I may look into renting a room or two to provide a little additional income.
I work two jobs ever since my husband was laid off from his full-time job last October. I wait tables on the weekends, and work Mon-Thurs at a local non-profit doing financial counseling. My husband has a part-time job right now, and is focusing attention on gardening, raising our backyard chickens, and doing various handyman jobs.
I have a full-time job and recently started my own Arbonne business, so I have two sources of income!
No multiple income streams right now. Just have not taken the plunge/found the time. Our idea is to start a husband/wife photography team for special events as a side business.

Liked you on FB. Fun to follow. Thanks.
As a student living away from home for the first time, I realized that I was not making enough money to pay all my bills and I was racking up more debt than I was okay with! So in addition to my job as a receptionist, I got a job serving tables at a restaurant. It has been an adventure because I have never served before but it is so nice to have tip money to take home at the end of every night and put directly toward paying down my debt!

I work my main job, which is an administrative assistant.
I get my second income writing thank you cards, which is a mandatory part of the job as a sales rep where I work. I write them for 4-7 reps a month, at a $100 a rep. I can pull in an additional $400 - $700 a month simply writing thank you cards for customers.
Right now I'm editing/beta reading a novel for a friend I met through Twitter. If she's pleased about my edits and comments I made to her book I'm hoping she'll help spread the words to her writer friends and on her Twitter about me, and then I can start working on becoming a freelance editor for self-publishers.

I sometimes feel like I have two jobs. My first (primary) job pays the bills, while my second job (filling out online surveys at MySurvey and Opinion Outpost) gives me some spending cash every month. It's not much, but it's an easy way to make a couple of extra bucks.
My second source of income is rental income. I own a double unit house in an old, city neighborhood making the mortgage very affordable.
Should anything bad happen, at least the mortgage can always be covered by the tenants rent.

If you count little online things like blogging, completing surveys and writing book reviews, then yes! They don't bring in a whole lot of money, but I often use that play money to buy discounted gift cards that help the dollars and cents spread even farther.
I liked you on Facebook and also the post :)
Yes multiple sources of income is awesome because I can have a couple of the sources deposited automatically into savings. The income is from two jobs and a side tutoring job. :)

thank you!
I work at a Hospice House five days a week full time. Also, work at a Home care part time and have three housekeeping jobs. I want to pay my mortgage off early and keep building up my EF.
I have a full time day job, and also run a small business on the side (I call it my nights and weekends job!) I do have goals to invest in other properties/business ideas that will create other sources of income in the future.
I work full time and my husband works full time. It really helps that our teenage son has a part-time job too! It really helps us out.

2 full-time jobs are our sources of income & 17 yr old's part-time income helps us too. He spends his money not ours! @wisebread #WBAsk
As of today I have two sources of income - Social Security and a part time job. I have been at the part time job for almost 5 years, and it has always seemed secure. Today, however, I was informed that perhaps the job will no longer continue through the summer months -- I'm thinking next year. So, I am seriously considering either full time employment or return to freelance writing again.
Not right now, but I'm working on either having 2 or just getting a better job.
No. I just have one job and doubt that I will ever have enough time for another one with two young children.

I am retired, but had a good salary that allowed me to pay off several houses when I worked. have a rental house in OKC (inherited); I have another rental house in SLC (purchased). I have interest income from CDs and fixed-rate accounts. I have money in stocks that I hope will give income in future, but for now it is all reinvested. I could draw a pension from Oklahoma State, but will wait until I'm older as it will be more income then. I will draw also from Utah State and social security (theoretically), also from the NHS and from the UK state pension, but that is in the future also. None of these are large sources of income, but together they make for a good lifestyle. For now, my husband draws an NHS pension and gives me the 'housekeeping' and I pull across rental income as and when necessary. There have been times in the past when I worked waitress jobs at the weekend in addition to my full time secretarial job, but most of the time I went to university at night school to get qualifications that allowed me to get better paid jobs. Now days we garden, buy second hand, walk & cycle and generally live frugally so that we can remain debt free and still travel.
Yes.
I have several side hustles, in addition to my regular job: I fill out surveys; I do business and medical research; I sell stuff on Amazon, eBay and Craigslist; and I have a big yard sale every year. Am trying to monetize my blog, too.
It feels safer to have lots of sources!
We have rental income, cell tower income, farm income and investments, plus my husband has a job. But we're by no means rich. It's almost to the point that we're "property rich and cash poor."
I have a full time job as a bookkeeper, which I work 4 days a week and consider my "bread and butter". On weeknights/weekends I write personal finance and tax articles for my own blog, and guest spots for other websites.
During tax season (Jan - April) I am a Tax Specialist for a prominent tax office.
My unearned income includes oil & gas royalty, and some interest income from CD's and other investments.

We have four main sources of income: 1. Main job, 2. residual income from home business, 3. wife's music teaching business, 4. Military reserve pay, 4. Rental property income.
My husband and I both have full time jobs plus we both work part-time as ushers at the arena in town. The checks from the second jobs go into an account designated for vacations so we can afford a couple of nice vacations each year.
I have two boys under 2, so I have several small-earning streams of income. Every little bit helps!
My husband has a full-time job, we also do the following for money:
-Collect and recycle cans
-Mystery shopping
-Online surveys
-Piano lessons
I have a full time job, a tutor, and I am trying work as an extra in movies this summer.
