Fall is here! (Well, almost -- it officially begins September 23rd.) There are lots to love about this season: pumpkin spice everything, the kids go back to school, and the holiday season starts ramping up.

Fall is my favorite season. I love the cooler temps, leaves changing colors, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and pumpkins.

I love all the fall food - pumpkin, turkey, gingerbread, butternut squash. I look forward to football and Thanksgiving dinner. I don't like the shorter days and less daylight.

I like the cooler weather and the start of holidays!
I like getting my "me" time back when school begins again. It's also when my Christmas planning gets into gear. (I make a lot of my gifts.)
No heat OR A/C = lower utility bills.
Plus it is such a joy to be outside.
AND our garden is producing a bountiful harvest!
My favorite holiday is in the Fall, Thanksgiving. I love the colors they are beautiful and this time of year is my favorite for being outside and just appreciating nature.

honestly, i wanna say everything. i live for autumn. i love the leaves turning, pumpkin spice in everything, roasted beets, squash, cooler temps (bc i'm hot natured) and the different slower vibe that seems more introspective and less summer blazing hot sunny but rather a crisper cooler air.

The cooler weather makes cooking inside more doable. During the summer our oven rarely gets turned on because it is just too hot to begin with and we don't want to add to that by turning the oven on. I'm looking forward to making warm comfort type food with the cool weather coming on.

Autumn is the time of year when I love the rustling sound of the Aspen trees and their beautiful leaves, looking as though someone simply took a paint brush to the mountainside.

The beauty of Fall. The colors are breathtaking.
My favorite part of fall is our annual trip to the apple orchard in the NC mountains. We get to pick our favorite apple varieties. And I love the homemade donuts and apple cider they sell in the little store.
I love when the weather gets a little cooler, the trees changing, and all of the fun fall activities (pumpkin and apple picking, Thanksgiving, leaf jumping, etc.!).
It's not so much new activities I forward to during the fall. My dogs can walk farther when the temperatures are cooler. The scenery is more beautiful when riding my bicycle. I enjoy sitting on my deck with friends and family more when we exchange jackets for insect repellent. When the heat subsides, the leaves brighten and the kids are back in school, being outdoors is more peaceful. (The lower power bills are nice, too)

I love Starbucks eggnog lattes available in the fall. Autumn is the end of the unbearable heat season. I love watching the leaves turn from yellow to brilliant orange and red. The air smells crisp and cool. I finally can hear the beautiful sound of the White Crown Sparrows in my yard. Soon the Goldfinches will return and I have their thistle feeders ready for them. The sky is now filled with clouds daily and the rain will soon start falling. I won't have to water for another 6 months. Best of all, the earth is at peace and ready for life giving rain and the beginning of the growing season.
Eggnog lattes, cool weather, sweet smelling rain, red orange fall foliage and lots of clouds fill the sky. No watering for 6 months.

My favorite thing about Fall is how you can feel the seasons changing. There is still some warmth in the air, but you feel that cool, crisp, fresh, breeze on your nose and cheeks.
Oh, and I am NOT a fan of pumpkin spice ANYTHING. Yuck! lol :)
