Unlike other cards that offer bonuses on fixed or rotating categories, the U.S. Bank FlexPerks® Travel Rewards Visa Signature® card allows you to get bonus points on an everyday category that you spend the most on. Let's cover the unique terms of this card.
How This Card Works
Earn two points per one dollar spent on gas, grocery, or airline purchases (whichever you spend the most on each billing cycle). You also get two points per one dollar spent for cell phone expenses, and eligible charitable donations. For all other purchases, you get one point per dollar spent. However, if you spend more than $120,000 in purchases per year, then you'll earn one point for every $2 for the remainder of the year, no matter what category the spending is in.
FlexPoints expire five years from the end of the quarter in which they were earned. You can redeem your points for gift cards starting at 5,000 points, with retailers such as Apple and Macy's, or for merchandise or statement credit. You can also redeem for award flights with over 150 airlines such as AeroMexico and Delta, starting at 20,000 points for a ticket worth up to $400. (Get a $25 Airline Allowance reimbursement per air travel award ticket toward baggage fees or in-flight food and drinks.)
This credit card offers a very flexible rewards schedule for the frequent traveler, that allows for the possibility of really maxing out the potential value of credit card points when it comes time to redeem points.
You can travel on more than 150 airlines with no blackout dates or online redemption fees. You also get up to a $25 airline allowance with every award ticket good towards baggage fees and in-flight treats, and more.
There are no foreign transaction fees.
The annual fee, while waived for the first year, is still $49. This is above other cash back credit cards that offer similar or more benefits. Additionally, the points expire.
This card is best for the frequent traveler who loves to exchange points for discounted or free travel. Big spenders should see big rewards with this card.
