Just a 20-something girl who is still trying to balance between being a Shopaholic and a Saver who cleared $60k of debt in 18 months.
I am also The Everyday Minimalist (www.everydayminimalist.com)
Getting out of debt was a mix of hard work, luck, circumstance and discipline that got me out of debt, and I really believe that people just need to set priorities, make choices, and stick to the execution.
It's not sexy, fast or a magic solution but it's what does the trick. Getting into debt is fun and easy. Getting out, not so much. As a result, I don't really tolerate people who whine but don't do anything about it.
I also don't believe in an uber frugal lifestyle, per se. I believe in living what I call a "conscious spender" lifestyle. (I really hate the word frugal because it drums up images of people living like unkempt, odd-looking hippies, of which I am most definitely NOT one.
Career-wise, I am a freelancing consultant and I've learned how to live out of a single suitcase with everything I needed. Now, I can fit my life into 3 full suitcases and 2 carry-ons, ready to move to a new city and have a new adventure at a moment's notice.
