The purpose of this blog is to:
Document:
Our journey to financial freedom, paying off about $160,000 in debt (most of which is my student loans). Once the debt is gone I'm sure I'll still have plenty to write about. Staying OUT of debt is a challenge in today's culture as well. Buying cars & homes, paying for our kids education, saving for retirement, saving for vacations, living on less so that we can give-give-give; these are all things that are worthy to blog about after the debt is gone. Ten years from now this blog will be an incredible journal and record of our story and that is part of the reason for blogging.
Motivate:
Others and myself. Climbing the mountain of debt is overwhelming to say the least. Blogging about it and our progress motivates me to keep moving forward. Opening my life up to blog followers brings much needed encouragement and motivation. Hopefully, my baby steps towards financial freedom will motivate others to make significant progress as well. If one person is motivated to get out of debt by my blog, then I count that as a success.
Inspire:
I post a mixture of content - personal updates, financial updates, links to financial articles, links to other blogs, and inspirational stories. I hope to inspire my readers by providing valuable content and a transparent "fly on the wall" look into our lives.
Glorify:
Our Lord Jesus Christ. If you can't tell already, this is a Christian Blog. All glory goes to God. Any success I have is because of Christ. My chief ambition in life is to give God all the glory through any circumstance, be it blessing or trial, adventure or tribulation. You will find clean, Christian content on this blog. I endorse Christian content, and will often post content that is directed towards believers AND non believers for the hopes that they might be saved.
